Why Car Servicing Is Essential For Your Car's Maintenance

The team here at Mike Patton CDJR are major car enthusiasts, as you may have guessed! We wanted to take a few minutes of your time to talk about something we see all too often: people neglecting to take their cars for regular servicing.

We work hard to satisfy our customers, which means keeping their vehicles in tip-top shape. Cars need regular maintenance as any other machine does; they can’t last forever without it!

Cars require different types of repairs and services depending on how old your vehicle is. Let us walk you through some common servicing steps below.

Time to Flush the Old Fluids

Whether your prized car is 20 years old, or brand new; it needs engine oil changes. Make sure to bring your vehicle in for regular oil changes, typically every five thousand miles (or as per manufacturer instructions). It will help keep your car running efficiently and smoothly.

Whether you’re driving a newer model or an older one, let us look at your brake fluid, power steering fluid & coolant levels – These fluids are usually topped up in every scheduled service, but you want to replace them at least once every two years.

Make sure to replace any old/harmful fluids if they require it, though, because replacing fluids is much cheaper than having to buy new brakes pads down the line.

Time for a Wash

Have you recently returned from a road trip? If so, you’ll likely want to give your car a nice wash before letting it rest in the garage for an extended period. Please don’t go overboard with the water, though, because you never know when we might get some rain!

Hello There, Air Filter

The air filter is another essential aspect that most people forget until they encounter a severe engine performance/efficiency problem. If it becomes dirty or clogged, your engine won’t breathe properly and will struggle as a result. We recommend checking it out at least twice per year to be safe!

Time for Tire Care

Car tires are essential. They need to be in excellent shape at all times, and they’re one of the most commonly replaced parts on a car, next to batteries and brake pads!

If you notice that your tire tread is below recommended specifications or there’s any damage with them, then get them changed as soon as possible because it might cause some serious problems down the line.

These aren’t the only reasons why servicing your car is so essential! Please visit our website to understand how to take care of all the different parts of your vehicle.

Feel free to call us and schedule a service for your beloved car. Our team at Mike Patton CDJR, serving Lone Oak, GA, will be happy to assist.
